A Player’s Personal Note about K4C

I received an incredibly touching email from a CryptoKitties player recently, and I wanted to share it with you all (with their permission). It’s a beautiful piece of evidence that Bella’s Kitty Den and the Kitties for a Cause campaign are having a real impact on real people, and I’m so grateful I get to be a part of such a generous cause.

This is the email I received:

“I just saw that you’re a part of the Kitties 4 a Cause for Seattle Children’s… and my goodness, it brings many tears.

My neice, she was 4 years old, and she had AT/RT brain cancer. We live in the Seattle/Tacoma area, so when she got her diagnosis, her brain surgery was performed at Mary Bridge in Tacoma, but after that she was taken up to Seattle Children’s, which is where she received care for about 8 months until she passed.

Her name was Sadie, and she put up a hell of a fight, by laughing and playing and singing through all of the invasive treatments and appointments and such. Sure there were bad days, but SC really had her best interests at heart, and did their best to keep us all positive, most importantly Sadie. We spent a lot of time up there, but especially her parents. It’s a really rough experience for the whole family when their child gets sick, so having resources available can be such a blessing. Raising money to take care of everything was not easy for us, so I can really appreciate what you’re doing. Thank you.”

If you haven’t already had a chance to donate to Kitties for a Cause (K4C), please consider doing it today. You can even get a chance to win a gold medal for doing so!

Thank you!
Jody

  1. Hey Brian, I’m the one who reached out to Jody, and I can’t thank you and Bella and the whole CK crew enough for doing what you’re doing! Seattle Children’s will always be in my heart and it’s so wonderful that you’re all doing this for them. From the bottom of my heart I wish you all the best and good luck with the auctions, I’m hoping this goes well for you and that this is the start to a beautiful trend! Hope the Kitties I sent bring in big donations!

  2. Thank you to whomever shared this story. It was very touching. Bella herself has had to visit Seattle Children’s Hospital and I believe this was a motivator for wanting to help. Our heart aches for your loss.
    Regards,
    Bella and Brian
